• Q: What is MPowerWash and what is it all about?

A: MPowerWash is a leading training and consulting firm serving the Car Wash and Fast Lube industries. We offer the single most effective training programs for employees, managers, and owners. We have the knowledge to answer all of your questions and over 18 years of hands-on experience to show you how to run your operation profitably.

• Q: What different types of car washes are there?

• Full-service Wash
  A full-service wash allows an attendant to drive a customer’s car through the tunnel. Service providers vacuum and clean the vehicle inside and out.
• Flex-serve or Off-line Full-serve Wash
  An Off-line Full-serve Wash allows the customer to drive the vehicle through the wash after purchasing a wash from a service advisor. The customer then has the option to have the interior cleaned, or simply exit the wash with a spotless exterior.
• Express Exterior Wash
  An Express Exterior wash allows the customer to drive the vehicle through the wash after purchasing wash services from an unattended terminal similar to an ATM. Customers usually have the option to vacuum the vehicle themselves before or after the wash.
• In-Bay Automatic
  The In-Bay Automatic is similar to the Express Exterior Wash, but the customer pulls into the building housing the wash, and the equipment moves around the vehicle to clean it. These typically are found as stand alone units, at self-service washes, or at gas station /convenience stores.

A: MPowerWash serves companies in all stages, from new investors who need help getting started out on the right foot, to experienced operators who need help making more money. We work with nationally franchised chains and single store operators. Some of our clients have other profit centers on site, such as gas stations or convenience stores, while others are stand alone operations.

• Q: Site Selection – what should I look for?

A: While there are exceptions to every rule, and each situation is unique, MPowerWash has found that some things are nearly always true. Most successful sites:

• Thrive on an undivided road with a speed limit of less than 40 miles per hour.
• Benefit from daily traffic of over 20,000 cars.
• Develop a customer base “on the way home” side of the street .
• Are established near traditionally, destination type, retail establishments.

• Q: Has the Car Wash industry matured yet?

A: The Car Wash industry is still an up and coming one. Recent studies suggest that up to 50% of automobile owners either wash their cars in the driveway, or do not wash them at all; this allows for countless opportunities around the country. Furthermore, major opportunities still exist for Car Wash owners who want to produce more income from their current location by adding a Fast Lube, Express Detail Center, or other profit center.
